Barbara Pudge (Blais) Hamilton, age 69 years, died Saturday, Sept. 7, at home after fighting a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family to the very end. She was the beloved wife of her soul mate, Robert Bob Hamilton. Born Aug. 8, 1944, in Brockton, she was a devoted daughter of Madelyn Blais and the late William Bill Blais. Barbara loved spending time with her two children, four grandchildren and extended family including some very special great-nephews. She regularly hosted family celebrations, making everyone feel welcome and loved in her home. She was blessed with special friends who she enjoyed spending time with. She loved traveling with her family and friends, was an avid reader and enjoyed golf. Barbara enjoyed her 33 years as the office manager for Dr. James Gilbert. She is survived by her two devoted children, Steven M. Hamilton of Bourne and his wife Sharon and Laurie Hamilton-Marshall of Walpole and her husband Alan; four cherished grandchildren, Hannah and Olivia Hamilton, Trevor and Madelyn Marshall. She is also survived by her mother, Madelyn Blais of Brockton; three sisters, Maryann Bacas of York, Pa., Carolyn Ramsdell of Halifax, Wendy Arey of Brockton; and two brothers, David Blais of Bridgewater and Michael Blais of Kingston. She is also survived by several sisters- in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews. A memorial service will take place Friday, Sept. 13, at East Bridgewater United Methodist Church, 54 North Central Street, East Bridgewater, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbaras memory may be made to the Toys for Tots organization at Toysfortots.org/donate.
