WALTERS, Arthur Hugill Born in Rossland, B.C. on October 9, 1927 and passed away suddenly in Victoria, B.C. on July 4, 2014 at the age of 86. Art was predeceased by his loving wife of 60 years, Shirley, in 2010 and by his brother, Gerald in 1979. He is survived by his brother, Robert (Jessie) in Calgary; sister, Marion (Stuart) in Victoria; son, Donald (Judy) in Calgary; daughter, Sharon in Regina; 5 granddaughters; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Art was raised in Rossland with his family; met and married his wife Shirley then moved to Calgary to start their family. Art worked as a draftsman for Shell Oil Ltd. for 35 years and was involved in the Glendale hockey and baseball leagues when his children were younger. Art and Shirley retired to Victoria, B.C. in 1985 and Art being a veteran of the army worked for the Canadian Corp of Commissionaires stationed at the Institute of Ocean Sciences for another 18 years. They both enjoyed travelling up island and other locales for several years. His love of family and his constant companion "Mocha" kept him company in his last years since Shirley passed. His "Celebration of Life" will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at the Cedar Hill Golf Course, 1400 Derby Road, Saanich from 1-3 pm.
