Harvey, Anne M.Oct. 19, 1911 - Nov. 20, 2007Anne M. Harvey, 96, Sarasota, formerly of West Hartford, Conn., died Nov. 20, 2007.A Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Dec. 1 at St. Peter Claver Church in West Hartford. Packer Funeral Home handled local arrangements. Anne Harvey was born Oct. 19, 1911, in Rockville, Conn. She graduated from Mount St. Joseph Academy and attended Rosemont and International colleges. She was a member of Avon Country Club, the City and Hartford Clubs, and the Social Service Club of Hartford. She was also a patron and member of St. Peter Claver Church.Peggy worked at the Hartford Welfare Department and the Home Service of Hartford Electric Light Company. She was a community hostess in West Hartford. Peggy did volunteer work at St. Francis Hospital and Sarasota Memorial Hospital. She belonged to Sarasota Yacht Club and was formerly a member of Longboat Key and Bobby Jones Golf Club. Peggy delighted in her many friends and neighbors in Sarasota as well as in West Hartford. She in particular enjoyed entertaining at the Sarasota Yacht Club as well as at her home. Her friends and neighbors meant a great deal to her through the years. This was especially so in the last few years of her life, when they reciprocated with such kindness and support in so many ways.Her late husband, William J. Harvey, had been president of the Dime Savings Bank of Hartford.Survivors include her two loving daughters, Ann H. Greb of Springfield, Pa., and Carroll H. Tobin of Darien, Conn.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Resurrection House Inc., 507 Kumquat Court, Sarasota FL 34236.
