CRAWFORD, Alice (née Laplante) - Passed away peacefully at North Bay General Hospital, McLaren Site, Thursday, November 27, 2008, at the age of 91 years. Loved mother of Joan Prudhomme (soul- mate, Barney Deroché-deceased) and Janice Sabourin (Mike-deceased). She treasured and enjoyed her six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is survived by sister-in-law, Ruth Laplante and several nieces and nephews who will dearly remember her. Alice was predeceased by her parents, Mary Dunlop and Oliver Laplante; her spouse, Albert; two sons, Staniford and Garnet Crawford; two brothers, Hector and William Laplante; six sisters, Clara Amyotte, Marie Desormeaux, Mae Farmer, Irene Devost and Lillian Wallace. Alice and her husband Albert worked very hard together at their business, Elmwood Motors and Snack Bar. They always enjoyed working and family time at their hobby farm in Astorville for many years. Alice was an active member of the C.W.L. at St. Peter's Church and Pro- Cathedral for over 60 years. She enjoyed her crafts of knitting, sewing and quilting. She donated many of her hand-made crafts to the church bazaars to which she was involved with. Visitation at MCGUINTY FUNERAL HOME, Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated at Pro-Cathedral of the Assumption Church, Monday at 10:00 a.m. Interment at St. Mary's Cemetery.
