Avis de décès de William-Ewart Noonan

William Ewart Noonan, M.D. LLD, Burlington, died after a brief illness, May 10, 2003 at the Hamilton General Hospital. He was 74 years old. Dr. Noonan graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, at the University of Toronto, in 1953. He went into General Medical Practice in 1954 in Kapuskasing, leaving a year later. In 1965, Dr. Noonan was appointed President and CEO Hamilton Civic Hospitals and served in this capacity until his retirement in May 1994. Dr. Noonan was a Founding Member of OCATH and was awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws degree at MacMaster University in 1994. He was also recognized as a driving force in the development of the Heath Care Community in Hamilton and was responsible for the establishment of the Hamilton Civic Hospitals Research Centre, which has received world wide recognition. Dr. Noonan is survived by wife Sheila Ann; children Murray (Lysa), Glynis (Terry), Shelley, Suzie, Norman (Brenda), Laurie (Peter), Nancy (Alfie), and Stuart; sister Virginia Dechert (Ken); brother Ross (Joan); and grandchildren, Billy, Caity, Alex, Kelly, Mike, Jeff, Brianna, Brahm, Natalie, Stephanie, Drew, Shayne, Conner and Jayme Rose. The funeral service was held at Wellington Square United Church, May 14, in Burlington.
