CARR, THEODORE "TED" GLENDON SAMUEL The death of Theodore "Ted" Glendon Samuel Carr of Fredericton, age 85, occurred on Saturday, December 20, 2003 at his home. Born in Geary, he was the son of the late Samuel and Eva (Smith) Carr. Ted was a member of the Nashwaaksis Y's Men Club as well as past President and Director several times of the organization, and was honoured with a life membership. He was the Maritime Regional Director, Past Canadian Area Service Director for the Brotherhood Fund, Regional Service Director for the Brotherhood Fund for twenty years and was Recipient of the Henry Grimes Award (Highest Maritime Region Club Award). Ted was registered in the "Golden Book" Internationally in Geneva, Switzerland. He attended several International, Canadian, US and Maritime Region Conventions and had the honour of carrying the Canadian flag in Stockholm, Sweden at an International Convention of the Y's Men. Ted is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ethel Isabelle (Foss) Carr; his son Arthur Carr (Paulette) of Davidson Lake; a daughter, Yvonne Clark (Donald) of Taymouth; four grandchildren, Todd Carr (Nora Lynne), Lori Lee Carr, Donald Clark, and Marilyn King (John); six great grandchildren, Jonathon, Sasha, Kathleen, John, David, and Holly; a brother, Hansel Carr (Cornellia) of Geary; three sisters, Augusta Cochrane of Fredericton, Christina Scott (Ernest) of Taymouth, and Shirley Crouse (Winston) of Geary; and several nieces and nephews. Ted was predeceased by a brother, Gary; and by sisters Florence, Amanda, and Grace. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, Brookside Drive at Douglas Avenue, Fredericton North, on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 2:00 PM from the Nashwaaksis Baptist Church, Edgewood Drive, Fredericton North. Rev. Kevin Culberson will officiate. Interment will take place at a later date in the Douglas Rural Cemetery. The pallbearers will be Todd Carr, Donnie Clark, Jonathan Carr, Keith Carr, Wilson Carr, and Danny McCoy. For those who wish, remembrances to the Nashwaaksis Baptist Church, the "Hip Hip Horray" Fund, the Extra Mural Hospital, or to any charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family.
