Ruby Marie Weston 1915 - 2005 NEW HORTON, NB - Ruby Marie Weston, 89, of New Horton, NB, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 22, 2005 at The Moncton Hospital with her loving family by her side. Ruby was born in Hastings, Albert County, NB on April 27, 1915 the daughter of the late Alfred and Beulah (Butland) McKinley. Ruby and her husband Pappy moved to New Horton in 1926 to raise their family. They were also the last Lighthouse Keepers of Grindstone Island. Ruby was a very faithful woman and attended the New Horton Baptist Church for 78 years. She was a member of the Women's Missionary Society of New Horton/Harvey. In her earlier years she was a member of the Fundy Curling Club. She was also involved with the Albert County Hospital Ladies Auxiliary and Forest Dale Home Auxiliary. She was a member of the Friendship Seniors Citizens and was very involved in her community. Ruby loved music and always enjoyed the many music nights with her family and friends, she opened her home for all. She was a very special lady and was known for her kind and generous spirit which made her much loved by her family and friends. Her smile will never be forgotten and she will be fondly remembered by all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her two daughters, Freda Kennie (Donald) of New Horton, Betty Weston (Brian) of Fredericton; her two sons, Ken (Marie) of Riverview, Fred (Norma) of Lower Coverdale; a daughter-in-law, Mary Kay of Petitcodiac; one brother, Fred McKinley (Veta) of Alma; and by her precious 13 grandchildren; and 14 great grandchildren. She will also be missed by several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband of 71 years, Wainwright "Pappy" Weston; son, Victor; daughterin-law, Maxine; sisters, Alice and Freda. She will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Monday evening from 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be held at the New Horton Baptist Church on Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at 2pm with Rev. David Keith officiating. Interment will be held in the Bayview Cemetery, Harvey, Albert Co., NB. Donations to the New Horton Baptist Church or to the charity of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
