Avis de décès de Romeo-Claude Jodoin


ROMEO CLAUDE JODOIN Romeo Jodoin, 70, of Pinewood, Ont., passed away at his home Wednesday, Oct. 27, 1999. He was born July 23, 1929, the youngest son of Eugenie and Theophile Jodoin. He was predeceased by his parents; three brothers, Sylvio, Theodore, and Florentin; and one sister, Solange Harwood. Romeo attended college at St. Paul’s College in Winnipeg. On Oct. 16, 1952, he was united in marriage to Wanda (Anderson) in Our Lady of the Way Catholic Church in Pinewood. Romeo joined his family managing the family-owned General Store and assumed ownership in 1958. He and Wanda continued to work together for 18 years in the store until it was sold in 1976. Shortly after, Romeo started work with the Ministry of Natural Resources and worked at Blue Lake Provincial Park in Vermilion Bay for 23 years with Wanda working alongside him. He retired in September of this year. His favourite pastime was going to the bush to log with his son, Dennis. He also enjoyed fishing, and looked forward to fishing with his sons on their annual fishing trip and friends at Blue Lake. He looked forward to his retirement and spending time with his wife, family, and friends. Prayer services were held Friday, Oct. 29, 1999. Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 30, 1999 at Our Lady of the Way Catholic Church in Pinewood. Father James Panikulan officiated, with interment in the Pinewood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Dale Morton, Scott Ellery, Ron Silver, Cliff Westover, Bert Seguin, and David Seguin. Honourary pallbearers were Bill Anderson and Bruce Pope. Romeo is survived by his wife, Wanda; his nine children, Corinne and Ron Dargus of Thief River Falls, Mn., Lorraine and Charlie Turcotte of Kelowna, B.C., Claude and Barb Jodoin of Fort Frances, Ont., Marcel and Karen Jodoin of Mitchell, Man., Giselle and Tim Marmus of Rainy River, Dennis and Lisa Jodoin of Pinewood, Lance and Leanne Jodoin of Sault Ste. Marie, Mona Jodoin and Leo Gratton of Winnipeg, and Paul and Apryl Jodoin of Sault Ste. Marie. Also surviving are 24 grandchildren, Bradley and Jacqueline Flynn, Jennifer Pendleton, Brittani Dargus, Alyson, Kyle, and Yvonne Turcotte, Nathan, Chantal, and Ian Jodoin, Nicole, Jeffery, and Scott Jodoin, Janelle, Jeffrey, and Bryce Marmus, Alyssa and Kailee Jodoin, Mathew, Dusten, and Jewel Jodoin, Daniel Gratton, and Mercy and Travis Jodoin; two great-grandchildren, Brandon Pendleton and Xavier Powell; and one sister-in-law, Evelyn Jodoin of Pinewood. Romeo (Dad) was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it, and was a dedicated husband and father. He was loved by all and will be deeply missed. If friends so desire, in memoriam donations may be made to the Rainy River Health Centre Fireplace Fund, Box 236, Rainy River, Ont., P0W 1L0.
