PIERRE, Robert James Suddenly on Dec. 19, 1999 at the age of 65 years. Loving husband and best friend to Patricia (nee Hartford). Devoted and dear father to Michael and wife Darlene, Robert Jr. and wife Doreen, David and wife Kelly, Maureen, Joanie Williams and husband Fraser (London) and Carol Lutz and husband Shawn. Loving grandfather to Jeremy, Christopher, Nicole, Danielle, Bobby, Joshua, Jacob, Sara, Jonah, Katelyn, Shannon, Carlie, Abbey and Harrison. Predeceased by his parents Margaret (1989) and Clifford (1979). Dearest brother of Ronald and June St. Pierre (Windsor), Carl and Rita St. Pierre (Amherstburg), Eleanor St. Pierre and Catherine St. Pierre (Windsor). Son-in-law to Margaret Hartford. Predeceased by father-in-law Bernard Hartford. Dearest brother-in-law to Jim & Bernie Hartford (Oakville), Chris and Christine Hartford (Kanata), Terry Hartford (B.C.), Paul & Trish Hartford (Oakville) and Mary Catherine Hartford (Windsor). Cherished and long time friend to Helen Unsworth and Ray McCormick. Survived by many nieces and nephews, many good friends and neighbours left behind. Longtime parishioner of Christ the King Parish. Longtime member of the South Windsor's Sportsmen Club. Bob started working at Champion Spark Plug in 1951. He actively participated in the union, working in a number of committees. In 1969, at the age 35, Bob became president of Local 195 in Windsor. In 1972, he began performing his duties as the Assistant Director of the U.A.W., Champion Dept. at the Solidarity House in Detroit Mich. Later in 1980, he was appointed Administrative Assistant to the Secretary Treasurer of the U.A.W. Bob retired in April 1993. He enjoyed his retirement to the fullest. Bob loved to walk, golf, winter vacations in Florida, summer vacations in Port Elgin and spending time with his family. Bob was a wonderful and loving husband and a family man in every way. He provided a wonderful family life for all of his seven children. Visitation at the Windsor Chapel Funeral Home 1700 Tecumseh Rd. E. on Tues. Dec. 21, 1999 from 7-9pm., Wed. 2-5 and 7-9pm. Prayers Wed. 3:30pm. Family and friends will be received on Thurs. Dec. 23, 1999 at Christ the King Church (2930 Dominion Blvd.) from 9:30am. until time of Funeral Mass at 10:30am. Interment Heavenly Rest Cemetery. In kindness, memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.(The Windsor Star)
