WEIR, Philip Arthur, C.Eng., MIMechE, P.Eng. - On Monday, May 14 at age 87. Loving father of Anthony (Jeni) of Mississauga and Veronica (Norville) of Brantford. Proud grandfather of Graeme (Krista) of Hamilton and Alexis (Stacey) Wesseling of Kitchener. Caring great- grandfather of Hunter William Weir and Morgan Eileen Wesseling. Pre-deceased by wife Eileen in November 2003. Phil and Eileen lived for many years in Dundas when Phil worked as an engineer for Westinghouse Canada in Hamilton. Phil was born in Ramsgate, England and Eileen in Lincoln, England. They met in Surrey, England when both worked at Vickers-Armstrong and after marrying in 1941 began a life of adventure together, including two years in East Africa (1953-1955) and emigrating to Canada - three times - 1956, 1963 and 1974! Thanks to many friends in Brantford who helped care for Phil and Eileen in the past few years, notably Nora; CIBC friends Lori, Kim and Diane; Annette, Lisa, Sue and Lynn at Brantford Chiropractic; and Heidi, Dana and Marianne of Lifeguard Homecare. Also thanks to the many caring nurses on Floor 7, and units C2 and C7, as well as Dr. Hanley at BGH. Friends will be welcomed at “THORPE BROTHERS' FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL“, 96 West Street, on Thursday, May 17, 2007 from 3:30 to 4 pm. A Funeral Service will then be held in the chapel at 4 pm.
