Oliver Ernest Grenier, of Tempe, went to the Lord on December 13, two days after his 83rd birthday. He was born in Pittsfield, NH, the only son of Ernest and Rosealma (Riel) Grenier. He served his country as a Marine in the Pacific during WWII. He was a member of the Third Order of Franciscans in Pittsfield and served as a volunteer with many charitable organizations throughout his life. He migrated to Phoenix, AZ with his family in 1958 on doctor's orders for the warmer climate. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Mary Agnus; his two daughters Martha Grenier of Phoenix and Eileen (Robert) Kane of San Diego; and his granddaughter Tracy Grenier of Scottsdale. A memorial mass will be held Friday, December 23, 2005 at 11:00 am at St. Daniel the Prophet Catholic Church 1030 N. Hayden Rd. in Scottsdale. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am with the Rosary at 10:30am., burial services including Military Honors will take place at 2:30pm at Valley of the Sun Cemetery 10940 E. Chandler Heights Rd. in Chandler. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Valley of the Sun Hospice, Eckstein Center 9494 E. Becker Ln. Scottsdale, AZ 85260 where his last days were spent with dignity and compassion. Oliver was special to everyone he knew and will be greatly missed, especially by his family.
