Mr. Michael Pollard Willis August 31, 1944 - November 19, 2008 - It is with deep sorrow that the family of Michael Pollard Willis announces his sudden passing on November 19, 2008 at the age of 64. Michael will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his son Jay and daughter Jodi, his former wife and close friend Anne, sisters; Jeanne (Charlie) Amos, Marne (Bob) Edwards, Susan (Leo) Magnan, and his brothers; Jeremy (Marie) Willis and Bill (Lisa) Willis, as well as many nieces and nephews, longtime friends Gordie and Mona Guenette, Wally and Linda Gamble and numerous friends and associates. He was predeceased by his Mother, Norah and Father, Gerald. Michael was born in Almonte, Ontario on August 31, 1944; moved with his family to Alberta where he took his schooling and served in the Royal Canadian Navy from 1961 to 1964. He later became an innovator in Alberta’s growing transportation industry. Michael was well known for his eccentric wit, his razor sharp tongue, his sound advice and guidance, his protective nature and, of course, his fondness for cats. A Memorial Service to pay tribute to Michael will be held at the South Side Memorial Chapel, 8310-104 Street, Edmonton at 1:30 pm Wednesday November 26, 2008, followed by refreshments and reminiscences at the Goldbar Community Hall ( 4620-105 Ave.) Memorial donations may be made to the Edmonton Humane Society or the charity of your choice.
