SOUCIE-MATHESON, MARY MARGARET ANN Of Lincoln, NB, on January 17, 2005, after a courageous battle with cancer, at the Palliative Care Unit of the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born January 10, 1923 at Doyle's Brook, NB, daughter of the late Alexander Regan and Mary Ellen Walsh, stepdaughter of the late Harry Gratten. Predeceased by brothers Benedict (Theresa) Regan, Murdock Regan and Andrew (Barbara) Regan. Survived by brothers Harry Gratten Jr. and Reginald (Mona) Gratten and sisters Alice (Nat) Loubert and Rose Marie (Billie) Burns. Predeceased by husbands Gerald Soucie (1979) and Robert Matheson (2003). Loving mother of daughters Paulette (Ian), Lynn (Marc), Cynthia and Nancy (Rick); sons Ray (Kathy), Mitch and Tony (Jacquie); Nana Sweet cheeks to Matthew, Sara, Tom, Dan, Corry, Michael, Dawn, Shyanne, Chris, Lindsey, Devon and Nadia; great grandmother to Aaron, Alyssa, Sara, Lauren, Jake and Jayden. Auntie to numerous nieces and nephews. Agraduate of Fredericton Business College, Mary was employed 23 years with the Department of Supply and Services and the Department of Justice. She was past secretary of the New Brunswick Liberal Association and a long time member of the Capital Winter Club and as well as the Catholic Women's League, Monsignor Boyd Bridge Club and a volunteer at the Fredericton Community Kitchen. Visitation will be held at Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton, on Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral mass will be held Friday, January 21, 2005 at 12:05 pm from St. Dunstan's Roman Catholic Church, Fredericton. Pallbearers will be grandchildren, Shyanne McWilliams, Don Hanlon, Corry Soucie, Thomas Soucie, Daniel Soucie and Chris Smythe. Interment will be held in the Hermitage Cemetery at a later date. It was Mary's request that memorial contributions be made to the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit, Canadian Cancer Society and the S.P.C.A.
