SLATER, Mary Frances (nee McDonnell). 1927 - 2006. Peacefully and quietly in her own special, very dignified, way with her family by her side, early Wednesday morning, March 1, 2006. Cherished and loving wife of the late George (Jim) Slater for fifty-four years. Loving mother and absolutely best friend to her adoring daughter Kathryn and her husband and special son-in-law Anthony (Tony) Fargnoli. Dedicated Nana to her precious and loving grandchildren Robert and Krystina Fargnoli. Beloved sister of Kevin McDonnell and his wife Rita (Hawkins) and their family, all of Ontario. Visitation at the Kane & Fetterly Funeral Home, 5301 Decarie Blvd. (corner Isabella), on Thursday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Monica's Church, 6405 de Terrebonne, on Friday, March 10 at 10:30 a.m.The family would like to thank Fr. George Oakes for his much appreciated friendship. A big thank you to the Aylmer Must Agency for their care-giving services, also the entire staff of 6 north and south at St. Mary's Hospital, Dr. Carl Emond's dedication and compassion, along with his attending residents, was unbelievable over the past three years. We would like to also thank France's special Oncologist Dr. Donna Stern for eighteen years of kind compassionate care.
