Marie Rose Yvonne (Montambeault) Allard, of Simsbury, previously of Windsor Locks, wife of the late Armand Joseph Allard, entered into eternal rest on Monday (November 28, 2005). She was the first born of 11 children to the late Lucien and Gracia Montambeault in St.Sylvere, Quebec, Canada. She enjoyed working and the friends that she made at work, most recently for Hallmark Cards in Enfield, before retiring. She was predeceased by her husband and is survived by her children, Carole M. Phelps of Cape Cod, Michael N. Allard of Enfield and Frances C. Cooley of Granby; her three grandchildren, Stephanie S. Moore of Greenwich, Eric E. Smith of Cape Cod and Kelly F. Cooley of Granby; and four of her sisters, Georgette Noel, Aline Pepin, Lucille Bordeleau and France Nadeau all of Canada. We will all miss her great sense of humor, her laughter and listening to her telling jokes with her French accent that seemed to make them even funnier. She especially loved the Catholic Church, spending time with her family and her dog Otis. Her family will hold visiting hours on Friday, December 2, at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., from 9 -10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 42 Spring St and burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Spring St., all in Windsor Locks. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the adult program which her grandson, who has cerebral palsy, attends at: Community Connections, Inc., c/o Eric E. Smith, 127 Whites Path, South Yarmouth, MA 02664. For online messages of condolence please visit www.windsorlocksfuneralhome.com. Published in the Hartford Courant on 11/30/2005.
