Marguerite (Peg) Helen (Flynn) Hancock, 86 of Framingham, died Friday, June 28, 2013. She was the beloved wife for 50 years of the late John J. Hancock, former Framingham Fire Chief, who died in 2001. A lifelong resident of Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Nellie (Sullivan) Flynn. She was a graduate of Framingham High School, class of 1944. Marguerite was a homemaker while her children were young, later working for the Town of Framingham in the Treasurer/Collectors office before her retirement. Her greatest joy was the love she had for her family. She is survived by her daughters Jane McGovern, and her husband Kevin of Framingham, Martha Owen and her husband Charles of Framingham, her son-in-Law, Dr. Donald Buell of Chicago, eight grandchildren, Matthew Buell, Edward Buell and his wife Carrie, Stacey Buell and her fiance Dr. Edward Neumann, Michael Buell and his wife Rachel, Phin McGovern, Maggie Owen, Kyle Owen, Kathryn McGovern, two great-grandchildren, Patrick Buell and Nate Buell. She is also survived by her sister Kathryn (Kitty) Flynn Seariac, along with many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by her son, Edward Hancock in 1976, her daughter, Katherine Hancock Buell in 2003, and her sister, Mary Flynn Oliver. A funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, July 3, at 10 a.m. in St. Georges Church, 74 School Street, Framingham (Saxonville). Relatives and friends kindly invited to attend. Burial will follow in St. Stephens Cemetery, Framingham. Calling hours at the Eugene J. McCarthy and Sons Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln Street, Framingham will be on Tuesday, July 2, from 4 - 8 p.m. Marguerites Family is very grateful for the loving care she received at Carmel Terrace Assisted Living in Framingham, and most recently at the Wayside Parmenter Hospice House in Wayland.
