Memorial service for Louis Raymond Col Jr., 69, Port Orange, who died Sunday, Sept. 11, 2005, at Ormond Memorial, will be 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, at the home of Carol Col, Crane Lakes, Port Orange, with the Rev. Jim Smith officiating. The family requests casual attire. His family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. Thursday at Baggett & Summers Funeral Home, Daytona Beach. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Mr. Col was born June 7, 1936, in Canaan, Conn., and moved from Louisville, Ky., to Daytona Beach in 1978. Louis was self-employed as a courier in Port Orange. His family always came first and playing golf was a close second. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Carol; son, Douglas L. and wife, Arlene Col, Memphis, Tenn.; daughter, Donna L. Breaux and husband, Tony, Port Orange; stepchildren, Mindy Williamson and husband, Dan, Virginia, and Gene Commons, California; sister, Arlene C. Chappuis, Daytona Beach; grandchildren, Nick, Cory, Taylor, Caroline, Anna and Katie; his beloved dog, Cinnamon; and four loving nephews and their families.
