Mrs. Joyce Marion Peverille September 28, 1924 - January 4, 2009 74. It is with extreme sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear mother and grandmother at her home in Lower Sackville on January 4, 2009. Joyce was a well-known Sackville resident and will be fondly remembered by her friendly smile to everyone she met, especially customers of the Lower Sackville Post Office. She began her career with General Motors at an early age and married long-time Sackville resident, Douglas Peverill who was well- known for his athletic skills (inducted into the Sackville Sports Hall of Fame). Joyce loved nothing better than a hockey game and recently followed all games by her precious grandson, Kolton. She also loved a good joke and a good chat on the phone to all her friends. She is survived by her only daughter, Susan Peverill-Stevens; her son-in-law, Peter Stevens, her beloved grandson, Kolton Stevens. She will be missed by her precious granddog, Erin. She was predeceased by her husband, Douglas Peverill; her long-time friend, John Hankey; her father, Edward Waugh; stepfather, John Martin and mother, Eva (Romans) Waugh Martin. No visitation by family request. Funeral service to be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. in First Sackville Presbyterian Church, Rev. Lorne MacLeod officiating. Burial in St. John the Evangelist Cemetery, family only, reception to follow in the church. Donations may be made to any local animal shelter (for her love of animals).
