ST-CYR, Joseph Edgar. December 20th, 1917 - February 20th, 2004. Born Ponteix, Saskatchewan. Ed passed away at Langley Memorial Hospital. Professional welder, mechanic, carpenter and jack of all trades at the young age of 86. After a courageous battle with G.E. cancer. He had a zest for life. Alert and aware till the end. Loved people and was loved in return. Was generous and always willing to help. We will miss his sense of humour and infectious smile. He enjoyed building projects and nothing was too great nor too small. He is lovingly remembered by his daughter Lucille and her mother Amanda; his brothers Herve, Robert, Gerard, Laurent, Norman and their wives; his sisters Lena, Sr. Alma, Alice and Rita; many nieces and nephews; his partner Helen Williams and his extended family whom he held a special place in his heart. Funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 26th at St's Joachim and Ann Catholic Church, 2827 273rd Street, Aldergrove, B.C. A celebration of life will follow at The Aldergrove Legion, 26607 Fraser Highway at 12:15 p.m. Evening prayers and a viewing 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 25th. Many thanks to Dr. Harold Stephany and Dr. Milton Po, Radiation on College to the F.V. Cancer Clinic, to the staff of 3 South L.M. Hospital for their care and support to both Dad and myself. Thanks also to the Langley Hospice Society for their many wonderful volunteers and to their vigil service team for without them I may not have fared so well. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to The Langley Hospice Society, 20088 40A Avenue, Langley B.C., V3A 2Y6. Viewing at 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at The Personal Alternative Funeral Service, 3070 275A Street, Aldergrove, B.C., V4W 3L4.
