SALEM. N.H. -- Joseph "Roger" Allain, age 62, of Salem, N.H., died Wednesday, April 27, 2005, at his home, after a short battle with cancer.He was born in Price Edward Island, Canada, where he grew up. He attended schools in Canada, and graduated from Lawrence High School. He was a resident of Salem, N.H., for the past 11 years, and was formerly of Methuen, Mass. Mr. Allain was a technical supervisor for New Balance in Brighton, Mass., where he worked for over 13 years. He was a member of Mary Queen of Peace Church in Salem, N.H. He was a 30-year member of the Lawrence BPOE 65 order of the Elks. He loved working in his yard, clam digging, and enjoyed his home.Mr. Allain was predeceased by two brothers, Charles and Bernard Allain. He is survived by his wife, Gail A. (Leavitt) Allain of Salem, N.H.; two sons, Joseph and his wife Kelly Allain of Salem, N.H., and Jeffrey and his wife Laurie Allain of Londonderry, N.H.; one daughter, Jennifer Allain of Windham, N.H.; one stepson, Anthony Puzzo of Lawrence, Mass.; two brothers, Thomas and his wife Pat Allain of Florida, and Donald and his wife Diane Allain of Derry, N.H.; three sisters, Dolores and her husband Ralph Chasse of Falmouth, Mass., Doris and her husband Frank Plantamura of Methuen, Mass., and Marie and her husband Jim Smith of Methuen; two sisters-in-law, Helen Allain of Virginia, and Frances Allain of Brockton, Mass.; one aunt, Katherine Dion of South Lawrence, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews.ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, April 30, 2005, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, Salem, N.H. Cremation will follow. Calling hours will be held Friday, April 29, 2005, from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, N.H.
