O'DONNELL, Reverend Father John Peacefully at the Manoir St. Joseph on Sunday September 20, 2009 at the age of 85. Born in Aylmer, Quebec, on April 30, 1924. Ordained to the priesthood April 15, 1952 at Ottawa. Son of the late Thomas O'Donnell and the late Margaret Lochnan. Brother of the late Rev. Father Joseph O'Donnell, the late Eleanor McDonald, the late Bernard O'Donnell, the late Fred O'Donnell and the late Patricia O'Hara. Lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews. Fr. O'Donnell served in Saint Mary's, Almonte, Saint Theresa's, Ottawa, Saint Patrick's, Fallowfield, Saint Declan, Brightside, and Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Ottawa. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Patrick's Basilica on Wednesday at 10a.m. Interment at Notre Dame Cemetery. In memoriam donations to the Retirement Pension Plan for Priests of the Archdiocese of Ottawa would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to McEvoy-Shields Funeral Home.
