John B. Garrett John B. Garrett NEWTON HIGHLANDS John B. Garrett DDS, of Newton Highlands died Sun Jan 3, 2010 at Brigham Womens Hospital in Boston. He was 84. Born in Tuskegee, AL he graduated from Boston Latin, Amherst College and received his dental degree from Howard University. He operated a dental practice on Tremont St. in Boston for 55 years. He served in the U.S. Army and was discharged as a Capt. and served on the Board of Directors for the Roxbury YMCA. He had been a resident of Newton Highlands for 45 years. He was the beloved husband for 59 years of Glendella (Kilson) Garrett, and father of Elaine Garrett and her husband Dana H. Boyd of Medford, Audrey Garrett of East Granby CT and dear family friend Mary Gillette of East Granby, CT. A memorial service will be held at a later time.
