MACPHERSON, John Alfred (Alfie) Gunner, WWII Veteran 1942-1945 A D-Day Dodger Past President, Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 240 Past Zone Commander G6 Suddenly at Almonte General Hospital on Wednesday, December 12, 2007, we lost our Alfie, age 84 years. Beloved husband of Phyllis (Tuck). Loving father of John of Chilliwack, BC and Tom (Elizabeth) of Almonte. Cherished grandfather of Carl, Alyssa Toshack (Calvin), Kristy-Ann and Chelsea MacPherson and great-grandfather of Sheyanne and Emily. He will also be lovingly remembered by Jennifer and Dustin Thompson. Friends may call at the Almonte Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 154 Elgin St., Almonte on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday at 11 a.m. Interment Auld Kirk Cemetery in the spring. A Legion service will be held on Friday at 6:30 p.m. Those wishing may make memorial donations to Fairview Manor Foundation or the Legion Poppy Fund.
