James "Kid Franklyn" Greig January 06, 1918 - October 02, 2004 Funeral arrangements by Atlantic Funeral Home (Lower Sackville) GREIG, James "Kid Franklyn" - 86, Lower Sackville, died October 2, 2004, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born 1918, in Halifax, he was a son of the late Charles Alfred and Catherine Maude (Sutherland) Greig. Jim was in the navy from 1939 to 1959 and served in the Second World War and in Korea. He retired from the Bedford Institute of Oceanography in 1979. Jim was a great fan of boxing. He was predeceased by his first wife, Dotte; son, Jim; sisters, Eva, Flo, Jesse; and second wife, Marie. Jim is survived by daughters, Judy and Cathy; son, Paul; sister, Camil; brother, Charlie; grandchildren, Kenneth and Allura; great-grandson, Aidan. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr., Lower Sackville. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, in St. Elizabeth Seton Roman Catholic Church, Rev. George Leach SJ officiating. Reception to follow in the church hall. Private family burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Please remember Jim with a donation to your favorite charity.
