James A. "Jim" Westcott, 82, of Maynard, died Thurs., March 29, 2012 at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington. Born in St. John's, Newfoundland, he was the last surviving of eleven children of the late Michael George Westcott and Anne J. (Madden) Westcott. A longtime Maynard resident, Mr. Westcott worked on the Boston & Maine and New Haven railroads, and was a forklift operator at Wilson Lumber in Concord for over 40 years. Following his retirement he worked at St. Bridget's Church in Maynard, where he was a communicant. He especially enjoyed time spent fishing. The husband of the late Jeannette M. (Cotoia) Westcott, he is survived by his wife Mary M. "Doll" (Byrne) Westcott; a daughter Marie C. Steinbach and her husband David of Maynard; two grandchildren, Benjamin Steinback and his wife Rebecca, and Linda Wyble; 4 great-grandchildren and a large extended family. Visiting hours will be held on Sun., April 1st from 5-8pm at the Acton Funeral Home, 470 Massachusetts Ave (Rte 111) Acton. The funeral Mass will be celebrated Mon., April 2nd at 10am in St. Bridget's Church, 1 Percival Street, Maynard. Burial will follow in St. Bridget's Cemetery, Great Rd (Rte 117) Maynard.
