NOILES, James Cooper March 6, 1937 - October 18, 2007 James Noiles of Calgary passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2007 at the age of 70 years. Jim was born on March 6, 1937 in Springhill, NS. He was a coalminer in the Springhill Mine, where in 1956 he was involved in the Springhill mine disaster as the last man to be rescued alive. Due to health issues suffered from the mine disaster and being one of the first people to be diagnosed with T.B. of the intestine, Jim fought for his every day and every year of his life and lived for many more years than loved ones could have ever dreamed. Jim also served in the military as a member of the Blackwatch and was also an active member of the No. 1 Legion Branch in Calgary for forty years. After moving back and forth between Nova Scotia, Ontario and Calgary, in 1965 Jim finally decided to settle permanently in Calgary. During a short marriage Jim had two sons James Cooper Jr. and Fredrick William. Jim dedicated his life to his two sons from the day that they were born right up to the final second. His passions were hunting and fishing, which he did growing up with his father, and watching horse races for the last forty years of his life. Jim is survived by his two sons James Cooper Jr. and Fredrick William; his two sisters Marion Henwood and Evelyn Noiles; brother George Edward Noiles and many nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his parents Cooper Noiles and Cecilia; his brother Fred and by his sister Florence Turnbull. Visitation will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) today, October 25, 2007 between 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway's Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Friday, October 26, 2007 at 12:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com .
