JENNINGS, JAMES A. - James A. Jennings, 69, of Pullen Ave., died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007, at Waterbury Hospital after an extended illness. He was the husband of Marie J. (Giordano) Jennings. James was born July 13, 1938, in Saint John, NB, a son of the late Harold and Evelyn (Linkletter) Jennings, and lived in Canada until 1962, when he moved to New Britain. Jim then moved to Bristol, back to New Britain, then to Waterbury and has lived in Oakville since 1990. He was educated in Canadian schools. Before his retirement in 1976, he was employed as a lithographer at Hemingway in Waterbury. Jim was a member of the Waterbury Elks Lodge 265 where he served on the board of trustees and was a member of the House Committee. He was an avid golfer and won several golf awards. He was a pool player and card player and was a communicant of Saint Mary Magdalen Church in Oakville. Besides his wife of Oakville, he leaves a son, Daniel Jennings of Thomaston; three daughters, Michelle Holt of Berlin, Doborah Nesbitt of Rocky Hill and Katherine Rigon of Waterbury; three brothers, Donald, Glendon and Vernon Jennings, all of Saint John; three sisters, Dorothy Patterson of Ocala, Fla., Vera DeAngelis of Sommerville, Mass., and Norma Brown of Saint John; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Jimmy were held from the O'Neill Funeral Home, Oakville, and Burial was in Calvary Cemetery in Waterbury.
