WESTCOTT, Henry G. (Hank) - 81, Hank Westcott of Orillia passed away at the Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital on Friday, November 28, 2008. Devoted husband to Phyllis (nee Heffernan). Dear step-father of Joan Ludwig and husband Ed, Roger Dickhout and wife Janet. Doting step- grandfather of Kurt and Nathan Ludwig; Graham, Allison and Jenny Dickhout. Dear brother of Stan Westcott and Enid Ewart. Beloved uncle of Gail Cook, Julie and Frank Westcott, Judy Ewart, Peggy Dobson, and Don Cook. Predeceased by wife Norma (Nee Geddes). Hank graduated from Victoria College, University of Toronto, to which he was fiercely loyal throughout his life. His attention to detail, curiosity, interest in others, irrepressible wit and penchant for storytelling - were strong foundations for an impactful professional life and rich personal life. He had a long and prolific career with ManuLife Canada, rising to the senior executive ranks. He loved all things living - both in wilds of Georgian Bay and in the wonderful gardens that he nurtured. He captured their beauty in his paintings and expressed his joy for life through his piano playing. He was a voracious reader and perennial student of history. Hank was a delightful human being and a true gentleman. He made and maintained friendships from all walks of his life and above all loved his family dearly. Visitation will be held at the Mundell Funeral Home, 79 West St. N., Orillia, Ontario on Monday December 1, 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday December 2, 10-11 am. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday December 2, 2008 at 11 am. Interment: Stone Church Cemetery, Beaverton.
