peacefully slipped away November 17, 2001 at the Forest Grove Care Center with his family by his side. George leaves his wife and best friend of forty-eight years, Winnifred, his pride and joy, son Bill and grandson Bradley. He is also survived by his sister Joyce Lea of Stoney Creek, Ontario, his sister-in-law Audrey O'Reilly of Quebec and many nieces and nephews. George was predeceased by his mother and father, Lou and Bert Garrett, sister Veryl Wells. George served with the Royal Canadian Airforce and later as dispatch officer for the Merchant Navy. George was employed with Canadian International Paper Company as Production Controller for forty-six years. George and Winnie relocated to Calgary from Quebec 17 years ago. George was an avid golfer, enjoyed hunting and was a devoted family man. After retirement, he joined the staff at Inglewood Golf Club and thoroughly enjoyed 8 years there. He devoted many years to the Shriners and the Masonic Lodges and was sincerely dedicated to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children in Montreal. Our heartfelt thanks we extend to the staff of Unit 600 Forest Grove for their professional care, compassion and support. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday November 21, 2001 at 2 p.m. If so desired, donations can be made to the Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children (1529 Cedar Avenue, Montreal, Quebec) Arrangements entrusted to Mountain View Funeral Home and Cemetery, 17 Avenue SE at Garden Road.
