Elizabeth Wallace December 08, 1937 - September 14, 2005 Funeral arrangements by Chapel Lawn Funeral Home Joyce quietly passed away Wednesday, September 14th, 2005. Born on 8 December, 1937, she was the only child of Maude and William Wallace, who both predeceased Joyce. Joyce is survived by her cousin, Myrtle Andersen of Lundar, Myrtle’s daughters Bonnie Korzeniowski of Winnipeg, Dorene Petersen of Lundar, and their families. Joyce was a fragile little lady whose life had taken many twists and turns, both physically and emotionally. Nevertheless, she maintained a strong will, a sense of independence and an ability to express her wants and needs. Joyce loved to dress up and look pretty; “Miss Wallace” was a real “lady” at heart. During her younger years, she loved playing cards and board games. In later years, due to failing health, she enjoyed watching the Life Network and professional sports of all kinds. She was particularly fond of babies and dogs. Joyce was our family treasure. She taught us what courage is and instilled an appreciation of life and love. Her big brown eyes and huge smile warmed hearts and taught us about compassion and unconditional acceptance. Our sincere thanks go to the staff of the Manitoba Developmental Centre, Portage la Prairie, for their exemplary care and compassion extended over the years to our “Joycey”. Joyce was an integral part of Westview and will be fondly remembered by all who met her. Joyce thoroughly enjoyed her summers at Camp Sandy Haven. In lieu of flowers, donations would be gratefully received by the Residents Benefit Fund - Camp Sandy Haven at the Manitoba Developmental Centre. Funeral services, with Pastor Dave Heasler officiating, will take place at 1:30 PM on September 19, 2005 at the Aspen Worship Centre, Manitoba Developmental Centre, Portage la Prairie.
