WARD, ELIZABETH SR. Elisabeth Ward Sr. of Welland, at the Welland County General Hospital, on Friday, October 17, 2003, in her 85th year. Wife of the late William Clark Ward. Survived by her daughter Elizabeth Anne Ward, grandchildren Lauri Racicot (Joel) and Ronald Newcombe (Patricia) and great grandchildren Jackson Garrett, Justin James, Paige Elizabeth, Cody and Chad. Also predeceased by parents John and Alberta Garreet, four brothers and one sister. Born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, Mrs. Ward lived in Saint John and Fredericton, New Brunswick before moving to Welland in 1987. She was employed as registered nurse. Mrs. Ward was a member of Central United Church and the Church Women's Unit. As well, she was a member of the Women's Auxiliary of Sunset Haven. Friends and family are invited to visit at the H. L. CUDNEY FUNERAL HOME, 241 West Main Street, Welland, from 12 noon until service time at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 20th. Reverend Carl Emke and Reverend George Schmidt of Central United Church will conduct the funeral service in the Cudney Chapel on Monday at 2 p.m. with interment to follow in Pleasantview Memorial Gardens. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be deeply appreciated by the family.
