Edward Nowak March 18, 1928 - May 11, 2016 It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness we announce the passing of Edward. He is survived by his wife, Anna; daughter, Maria (Chris); grandchildren, Gregory and Katelynn; son, Richard; grandchildren, Alex and Thomas; son, Henry; grandchildren, Adam and Anthony. After the war, Edward came to Canada in 1948. He married his beloved wife in 1959 in Poland and built the home they lived in together for decades. Edward worked as a carpenter at St. Paul's Hospital for many years until he retired. Prayers will be said at 11:00 a.m. on May 17, 2016 at St. Casimir's Church, 1187 E. 27th Ave, Vancouver. Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. A lunch will follow the mass under the church and internment will take place at Oceanview Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Kopernik Lodge for the care they provided over the last few years. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kopernik Foundation would be appreciated.
