HASTINGS, Edward John - In loving memory of Edward John Hastings, 81 years, of Sudbury, who passed away Tuesday morning, November 2nd, 2004 at the Sudbury Regional Hospital - Laurentian Site. He was born in Earlton and married Lucy (Menard) in 1943 in Kirkland Lake. Edward came to Sudbury in 1953 from Kirkland Lake. He was a Kiln Operator at the Iron Ore Refinery having 35 years at INCO, retiring in 1988. A Roman Catholic he belonged to the Holy Redeemer Church. Beloved husband of Lucy (Menard) Hastings of Sudbury. Loving father of Larry (partner Marita) of Sudbury, Robert "Bob" (wife Sheila) of Garson and Jennifer Obernick (husband Don) of Massey. Cherished "Papa" of Rodney Delamorandiere (wife Joanne), Melanie Generoux (husband Jason), Tasha Crabs (husband Darren), Michael Valiquette, Patrick Valiquette, Sheri Lyn Scott, Shawn Scott, and Lori Ransom and 7 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Teena Lecappelain (husband George predeceased) and Blanche Sipchenko both of Sudbury. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Dear son of John Hastings and Mary (Schaffner) Hastings-Blair both predeceased. Resting at the JACKSON AND BARNARD FUNERAL HOME, 233 Larch St., Sudbury. Funeral Mass in Holy Redeemer Church, 1887 Bancroft Drive, Sudbury, Friday, November 5th, 2004 at 10 a.m. Interment in the Civic Cemetery, Sudbury. Prayers 8 p.m. Thursday.
