ANSTICE, Dorothy Mary - In loving memory of Dorothy Mary Anstice of Manitoulin Centennial Manor, Little Current who died on Sunday, March 1, 2009 at 106 years old. Loving wife of Victor, predeceased 1984. Dear mother of Kenneth (Evelyn) of Sault Ste. Marie; Glenora (David Harrison) of Sudbury; Bertwin, predeceased 2001 (Marie); Ronald (Justeen) of Tehkummah; Jeanette (Doug Stickles) of Copper Cliff. Predeceased by infant children Kathleen (1921) and Dennis (1931). Cherished Grandma to 12 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren. Will be missed by her devoted friend Mira Koltscheff of Mindemoya. Dorothy was born in Somerset, England on January 11, 1903, the daughter of Minnie (Popham) and Alfred Salter. She came to Manitoulin in 1920 at the age of 17 and married Victor Anstice, also from Somerset. They raised 5 children on the farm in Tehkummah. Grandma was renowned for her cooking, baking, hand-knit socks, and her devotion to family. Visitation at ISLAND FUNERAL HOME, Little Current from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm on Thursday, March 5. Funeral at Island Funeral Home at 2 pm on Thursday, March 5 with the Rev'd Martin Garniss officiating. Memorial donations to Fairview United Church, Tehkummah or Manitoulin Centennial Manor Auxiliary would be appreciated. Interment at Hilly Grove Cemetery in the spring. 11433267
