JEFFERSON, DOROTHY EVANGELINE Beloved mother, sister, aunt and friend; "Nana" to 4 grandchildren and "Nannie" to 4 great-grandchildren. Dorothy lost her valiant fight for life to lung disease at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on March 20th, 2006. "Shed tears that she is gone then smile because she has lived. Cherish her memory and let it live on as you do what she would want which is to smile, love and be happy for the gift of tomorrow." Originally from Bridgewater, NS, Dorothy (Dot or Dottie to some) lived many years in Fredericton after her husband's military retirement. She was an active participant in many endeavors over the years. She was a Guardian Angel who knit preemie garments for neo natal units through Guardian Drugs. She was an avid card player, especially her weekly bridge games with the Southside Kinsmen Club. She also enjoyed the craft program and the "High Time" exercise program at the same facility. The Epsilon Games was a favorite activity for many years. Predeceased by her husband, Jeff (Capt. K.M. Jefferson) and her brother, Arthur Penny. Dorothy is survived by her sisters, Thelma Hebb (Bridgewater, NS) and Barbara MacAuley (Halifax, NS); son, Michael of Halifax and daughter, Cory (Eric) of Ajax, ON. At her request, her body has been donated to medical research at the Dalhousie University, Halifax, NS. There will be no visitation or service.
