Avis de décès de Donald-Fredrick Shaver


Donald Fredrick Shaver, 73 Donald Fredrick Shaver of Prescott, died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003 at St. Vincent de Paul Hospital, Brockville. He was 73. He was born April 5, 1930 in Prescott to Fredrick Shaver and Evelyn Brebent. He married Jessie Helena Shaver (nee Slater) March 8, 1969 at St. Paul's United Church, Prescott. Mr. Shaver is survived by his wife Jessie; stepsons David Martin (wife, Kathy) and Brian Martin; grandchildren Ann Barton and Jennifer Martin; great-grandchild Andrew Barton; sisters Eleanor Engelsdorfer and Margaret (Mrs. Alfred Jannack). He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Wallace. Playing the organ, cards and other games were his favourite interests. He had been employed as a machine operator at Prescott Finishing. Visitation was held at Chris Slater Funeral Home, Prescott Monday, Dec. 29, 2003. The funeral took place Tuesday, Dec. 30 at 2 pm at St. Paul's United Church, Prescott, with Rev. Laurie Milito officiating. Linda Anderson gave the eulogy, and Lyall Gilmour sang a solo of In the Garden. The United Church Women provided a luncheon following the funeral. A committal service will take place at Sandy Hill Cemetery, Prescott, in the spring. The pallbearers were Allan Slater, John Slater, Bruce Jannack, Barry Shaver, Gordon Dulmage and Matt Hayes. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to St. Vincent Palliative Care and Canadian Cancer Society.
