David Arthur Macfarlane Born January 4, 1937 in Malone, N.Y. Died april 4, 2010 in Spirit River, AB at 73 years. Dave was raised on a dairy farm in athelstan, Québec along with four brothers and two sisters. He attended a country school until grade seven, then went on to school in Huntingdon, Québec. at nineteen, Dave left Quebec and headed to Alberta where he worked farmong and on oil rigs. During one of his trips to visit his family, he met Sheila Saumier. after they were married, they returned to alberta then moved to B.C. where he worked as a millworker and helped Sheila with their two children. It was always Dave’s Dream to have a farm of his own, so he and his family moved to a farm outside of Spirit River, AB. He worked on the farm and off to suppport his family and numerous foster children. Dave was also Fire Chief of Happy Valley for years. He is survived by his loving wife Sheila, son Ken (Charlotte), daughters Pam and Sonya, grandchildren Cole, Jesse, Kendall and angelique, brothers Billy (Lorraine), Bob and Norman and sisters Frances and Elaine and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by this parents, Arthur and Grace, and brother Winston. Dave was a gentle, caring man and will be sadly missed. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Canadian Lung association would be kindly appreciated.
