Avis de décès de Cora-Ellen Lefebvre

BÉDARD, Cora Ellen (née Lefebvre) - Cora Ellen Bédard, daughter of Francis Lefebvre and Valérie Clément, born June 3, 1919, in North Bay, Ontario, died peacefully and with great dignity, March 21, 2007. Predeceased by her lifelong love, John (Jean-Marc) Bédard and her four brothers, Frank, Joe, Clement (Keno) and Leo, all of North Bay. She will be forever missed by her children: Jole (Pauline), Erin, Ontario; Valerie Kerekes (Richard), Vancouver, B.C.; Bailey, Toronto; Leif, Laval, Québec; Suzette, North Bay; Cora-Lise, Laval, Québec; Jean-Marc, Sturgeon Falls; Nathalie (Luc), Chelsea, Québec. She will also be missed by her grandchildren: Kevin, Steven, Joey, Jonas, Pierre-Alexandre, Alexandra, Laura and Charlotte. Cora was born and brought up in North Bay, Ontario. In her early adult years, she worked at her father's business, Lefebvre's Sports and Tobacco. In 1946, she married Jean-Marc Bédard, after which they moved to Rouyn Noranda, Québec, and later, to Laval, Québec, where they established the family homestead. It is here that Cora and John raised their family and where Cora insisted that all of her eight children be educated ‘en français'. The family home was always blessed by Cora's love and formidable talent for music and piano. She was a devoted wife and gentle mother who transmitted her tremendous faith and devotion to all she met; as Mommy would say herself, “after all is said and done, just remember to be nice to one another“. Cora managed to live a very long life without ever growing old. Cora's legacy will live on in all of her children and grandchildren. In Jole, we will recognize her sensitivity; in Valérie, her determination; in Bailey, her free spirit; in Leif, her faith and devotion; in Suzette, her generosity; in Cora-Lise (her namesake), her strong desire for peace; in Jean-Marc, her music and sense of humour; and in Nathalie, her desire to live every day to its fullest. We will always remember you Cora, cup of hot tea in hand and your unique style at the piano. Rest assured, we will carry-on your legacy of treating people the way you tenderly did all of your life. We love you Mommy, and God has blessed us so. May your ‘little light' continue to shine over us, Cora. The family wishes to pass on its deepest and most sincere appreciation to Doctor Stephen Steinberg, his assistant Cathy and the nursing staff of the third floor, West Wing of the North Bay General Hospital for their loving care to our mother and to the family members. May God bless you and Cora will watch over you, as well. What a wonderful vocation you have chosen. Family receiving friends at the MCGUINTY FUNERAL HOME, 591 Cassells Street, North Bay. Visitation between 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., today, Friday, March 23rd 2007.
