Waterford - Clarinda Leontine St.Germain Davis, 97, of 7 Longview Ave., died Tuesday morning at home surrounded by her loving family.She was born in New London March 31, 1907, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Cavanaugh St.Germain.On May 4, 1931 she married Frederick T. Davis Sr., former State Representative and Waterford Tax Collector. He died December 22, 1964.Mrs. Davis was a member of the Catholic Women's Club, the Fairharbor Club, the Pequot Golf Club and the Republican Women's Club.She was a graduate of the former Willimantic Norman School and began her teaching career in 1960. She taught at the Jordan School and Cohanzie School in Waterford.She is survived by three sons, Arthur "Bob" Davis of Waterford, James E. Davis and his wife Elaine of Alexandria, V., and Thomas J. Davis of Waterford; two daughters, Mary Elizabeth Hayes and her husband Charles of Quaker Hill, and Carolyn C. Davis of Waterford; nine grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a daughter-in-law, Lee Davis.She was predeceased by a son, Frederick T. Davis, Jr.; three brothers, Leon, James, and Arthur St.Germain; and two sisters, Theresa St.Germain and Dorothy Edmunds.The funeral procession will assemble at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Ocean Ave., New London, and proceed to a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery.
