Charles (Burt) Babin, 73 of Franklin, NC, passed away Monday, March 28, 2005. He was a native of Orleans Parish, LA. Son of Gabriel and Florence Babin. He was retired from Chevron Chemical Co., and a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. He was a US Navy Veteran, serving on the USS Essex. Survived by his wife of 38 years, Ethel V. Johnson Babin. Daughters Karen Corkern of Whitesbsurg, GA and Sherry Clay of Los Osos, CA. Son, Kevin Babin of Franklin, NC. Sister, Ethel Abadie of Westwego, LA. Brother, Elmo Babin of Cottonsport, LA. 7grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren . Funeral services will be held Thurs., March 31st at 2:00 p.m. at Bryant Funeral Home, with Father Matthew Kauth, officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6to 8:00 p.m. Wed. evening at Bryant Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to St. Francis Catholic Church, 299 Maple St., Franklin, NC 28734.
