Cecilia Agnes Jackson August 4, 1912 - January 1, 2009 JACKSON, Cecilia (Dawson) — Peacefully, with her family at her side, on a sun-filled New Year’s afternoon, January 1st, 2009 at Kingston General Hospital. Beloved wife of the late Norman T. Jackson. Lovingly remembered by her son, John Jackson, P.Eng. of Cobourg, and daughter Marilyn Jackson and son-in-law John Haeberlin of Foxboro. Cherished sister of Rita Mikes of Barrie, and predeceased by two other sisters, Monica and Dorothy, and brother Charles. Cecilia was the proud ‘Gram’ to her two adored grand-daughters, Keira and Danielle; her retirement years were filled with the joy of watching them grow from little girls into beautiful young women. She will also be missed greatly by her many nieces and nephews amongst the Gill, Dawson and Sheridan families. A private family visitation and cremation have been held. Interment will follow in the Spring. All of Cecilia’s family and friends are invited to a Celebration of her life, to be held at the Burke Funeral Home, 150 Church Street, Belleville on Saturday, January 10th between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM. A few moments will be set aside in mid-afternoon for recollections and stories, and contributions will be welcomed from anyone who wants to join in. Also, in recognition of Cecilia’s lifelong passion for gardening, flowers will be welcomed from anyone who wishes to make such a gesture. Alternatively, donations may be made in Cecilia’s name to Kingston General Hospital (www.kgh.on.ca/foundation/making_a_gift.asp), in recognition of the tireless efforts of the many wonderful and dedicated doctors, nurses and caregivers who looked after her during her final days. Her family will be forever in their debt for the support and guidance they provided during a difficult time. Cecilia touched the lives of everyone she met with her compassion, courage and her ever-youthful energy and beauty, and, of course, her indomitable spirit. She will be greatly missed.
