Catherine Rose Gagne -- June 13, 1911 -- September 24, 2005 -- THOMPSON --Catherine Rose (Raymond) Gagne, 94, passed away Saturday September 24, 2005 in Matulaitis Nursing Home, Putnam with her husband by her side. She is survived by her loving husband of 76 years Zephirin E. Gagne of Putnam. Born in North Grosvenordale, Catherine has lived in this area all her life. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, Thompson and made her career in her home caring for her family. She loved cooking, and going dancing with Zephirin and their friends. Later in life, they both did a lot of traveling inside and outside the USA.Besides her husband Zephirin, Catherine is survived by her daughterinlaw Simonne Gagne of Woodstock and her brother Rene Raymond of Middletown. She was predeceased by her son Lawrence R. Gagne on February 23, 2003, as well as her daughter Gloria Voorhis, two brothers Arthur and Edward Raymond, and her sister Eva LaChance. She also leaves four grandchildren Mark and Raymond Gagne, and Gary Voorhis and Gwyneth Irizarry, as well as six greatgrandchildren. She will also be missed by her several nieces and nephews. The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff of Day Kimball HomeCare and later Matulaitis Nursing Home for all their care and friendship of Catherine.Friends and family may gather in the lounge at Matulaitis Nursing Home on Wednesday at 10 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM in the chapel, with burial to follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Putnam. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in Catherine Gagne's memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
