NEW BEDFORD -- Arthur L. Allain, 104, of New Bedford died of natural causes Monday, Dec. 12, 2005, at New Bedford Health Care Center. He was the widower of Marcelline Moreau-Allain. Born in Canada, he was the son of the late Edouard and Josephine (Leger) Allain. He resided in New Bedford most of his life. He was a weaver at various cotton mills until he retired. Mr. Allain attended St. John Neumann Church in East Freetown. He was very religious and enjoyed spending time with family. Survivors include a stepson, Laurent E. Moreau of New Bedford; a brother, Pierre "Peter" Allain of New Bedford; seven stepgrandchildren; 17 stepgreat-grandchildren; 14 stepgreat-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was the stepfather of the late Lucienne L. Protin, and the brother of the late David Allain, Joseph E. Allain and Marianna Barsalou. He was cremated. His funeral Mass will be at 9 a.m. tomorrow at St. John Neuman Church, followed by burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Arrangements are by Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd.
