WEIR, Arthur Nelson - Passed away on June 13, 2008 in Peterborough in his 92nd year, after a short illness. Sadly missed by his beloved wife of 66 years, Evelyn Norene (Fair). Loving father of Douglas (Connie) of London, Ontario and David (Theresa) of Lakefield. Grandfather of Tara (Ram), Andrew, Lucas and Lea (Graham) and great-grandfather of Benjamin and Lily. Art was born in Omemee, Ontario and with the exception of his service to his country in World War II, he spent his entire life there. Following the war, he was the village butcher and then the Postmaster for 33 years before retiring in 1982. He also served his community through the Lions Club (founding member and Bingo volunteer), the Hydro Commission, the Horticultural Society and the C.N.I.B. and Trinity United Church, where he sang bass in the choir for over 50 years. A private family service was held on Monday, June 16, 2008 with interment at Emily Cemetery in Omemee. Friends, neighbours and relatives are invited to attend a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 7, 2008 at Trinity United Church, King Street East, Omemee. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Trinity United Church would be appreciated by Arthur's family. Arrangements entrusted to COMSTOCK FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 356 Rubidge Street, Peterborough. 11129506
