CALDWELL, ARNOLD STUART - The death of Arnold Stuart Caldwell, husband of Paula M. (Thomas) Caldwell, occurred on January 13, 2002, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Windsor, NS, he was the son of the late Chauncey and Sarah (Sadie) (Whiting) Caldwell. He was a member of the Canadian Guards serving with the UN Police during the Korean Conflict. During his career he was employed as a trucker and in the construction industry in the Greater Saint John Area. He was a member of the Buffalo Club and the Saint John CB Club. Besides his wife he is survived by his son Stephen of Nova Scotia, his daughters Loretta Davis (David Brown) of Saint John, Christine Vauhin (Daryl) of Ottawa, Darlene Robinson, Barbara Brown (Kevin), Gail Wood (Charlie), Judy McKay (Kevin), all of Nova Scotia, his brothers Joseph (Kate) Caldwell and Garnett (Karen) Caldwell both of Nova Scotia, his sister Iris Lowe of Nov Scotia, his former wife Lorna Margaret Caldwell, his mother-in-law Yvonne Thomas of Tilley Road, NB, his brothers and sisters-in-law Albertine Thomas of Montreal, Andre Thomas of Toronto, Evyline (Andre Croucet) of Trecadie, Venance (Irene Thomas) of Montreal, Alfred (Gilberte Thomas) of St. Remer Demherst, PQ, Marcella (Maurice Perron) of L'Assomption, PQ, Omer Thomas of Winnipeg, MAN, Luc Thomas of Montreal, Fernand Thomas (Lynn) of Vershere, PQ, Eva Thomas of Tilley Road, NB, Rita Brideau (Melvin) of Pond la France, NB, and several grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and several cousins, nieces and nephews (Gary Stanford). He was predeceased by his son Paul George Caldwell, his brothers Chauncey Jr. and Gerald Caldwell, his sister Gwen Page and his brother-in-law Hector Thomas. Resting at Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road (506-634-7425), Saint John, New Brunswick, with visiting on Tuesday from 7-9 PM and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The Royal Canadian Legion will hold a Tribute to a Veteran's Service at 7:00 PM on Wednesday. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2002, at 1:00 PM, from Bay View Chapel. Interment will take place at Cedar Hill Extension (Field of Honor) Cemetery. Remembrances made to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family. www.bayviewfh.com
