Andrew R. Hastings 1923 - 2012 FEEDING HILLS - Andrew R. Hastings, 89, a resident of this town for over 62 years, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2012 at Heritage Hall Nursing Home. Born and educated in Springfield, MA, Andrew was the son of the late Arthur A. & Rhea R. (Thetreault) Hastings. Andrew worked for the Massachusetts Highway Dept. for over 40 years prior to his retirement. He later worked at the Big E and volunteered at the Lion Club Pavilion at the Big E, and truly enjoyed spending his winters in Vero Beach, FL. He had also worked at Hastings Paint Co. of West Springfield. Andrew was an Army veteran of WWII, having served in the South Pacific. He is survived by two sons, Glenn Hastings and his wife Lynn of Westfield, MA, Andrew "Drew" Hastings and his wife Dina of Feeding Hills, MA, and a daughter Tracie Donnelly and her husband Kurt of Hampton, NH, 10 grandchildren, Sean, Michael, Eric, Lindsay, Christopher, Benjamin, Taryn, Timothy, Mark, & Zeke, 2 great-grandchildren, Katherine & Natalie, and a nephew, Eugene Hastings. He was predeceased by his wife, Anita (Lucia) Hastings on Feb. 10, 2012. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 5th, 2012 at 11:00 am from the Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home, 985 Main St. Agawam, MA, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 12:00 noon in St. John the Evangelist Church, 823 Main St., Agawam. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the Mass. Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Agawam. Family & friends may gather at the funeral home on Tuesday, Sept. 4th from 4:00 - 8:00 pm.
