Avis de décès de Alvin E. Rafuse

LEOMINSTER -- Alvin E. Rafuse, 81, of 284 Abbott Ave., was stricken and died at home Tuesday, Jan. 10. He was born in Fitchburg on March 27, 1924, the son of Sidney and Laura (Ouimette) Rafuse and grew up in Fitchburg and graduated from Fitchburg High School in 1942. In the mid-1950s, he built his house where lived until his death. Mr. Rafuse worked for 40 years as a papermaker at the former Fitchburg Paper Co., retiring in 1986. He was a veteran of World War ll serving in the 236th AAF Base Unit and served in Normandy, Po Valley, Southern France, the Balkins, Rome Arno, North Appenines, Naples Foggia and Air Offensive Europe. Mr. Rafuse leaves his wife of 53 years, Audrey A. (Norris) Rafuse; his son, Scott B. Rafuse of Leominster; his brother, Neil Rafuse and his wife, Claire, of Westminster; his sister, Helen Jones of Lunenburg; three brothers, Lewis E. Rafuse, James R. Rafuse and Sidney F. Rafuse; and three sisters, Edna O’Donnell, Leona Langille and Arline Howard, all predeceased him. At his request, no services are planned. Bosk Funeral Home, 85 Blossom St., Fitchburg, is assisting the family.
