MURPHY, Alice Anita - 84, Hemlock Hill, Plymouth, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2008, in Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Trenton, she was the daughter of the late Victor and Ann (Fraser) Webster. Alice grew up in McLennan's Mountain. She was married in 1952 in Sudbury, Ont., where she lived until her return to Pictou County in 1966. Prior to moving to Ontario, she worked as a medical secretary for several years for Dr. Sproull in New Glasgow. Alice enjoyed playing the piano. Surviving are sons, Fraser, New Glasgow; John (Brenda), Plymouth; Robert (Wendy), Mountville; grandchildren, Cara (Ray) Fowler, Holly and Paul, Kevin and Alicia, Sarah (Shawn) Murphy, Neil, and Kenneth; great-grandsons, Tristan and Grady; brother, Bill (Noellande) Webster, Lansdowne, Ont.; goddaughter, Patricia Matheson; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Wilfred; twin brother in infancy and a great- grandson, Tyler in infancy. The family will receive visitors from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday in St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, New Glasgow, with Rev. Richard Sand officiating. Burial will be in McLennan's Mountain Cemetery in the spring. Donations in memory of Alice may be made to St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church Building Fund, McLennan's Mountain Cemetery or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
