Son of the military officer Claude Royer dit Comtois and of Jeanne Cousin, he marries Madeleine Roy on November 26th, 1725 in Repentigny, QC. Thirteen children are born from their union. He arrives in New France about 1723. He is a soldier from the LaCorne company. He settles in Contrecoeur. He becomes captain of militia. About 1740, he moves to St-Denis-sur-Richelieu. He dies on October 29th 1760, and he is buried two days later in Saint-Antoine-sur-Richelieu.
