Pioneers of the Picher family

Pierre Picher-Lamusette was born in 1642 in St-Georges de Faye-la-Vineuse, in Poitou. Son of Pierre Picher and Anne Pinot-Piaut, he married Catherine Durand, daughter of Pierre Durand and Jacquette Courtois, on November 25, 1665 in Quebec City. From their union were born 8 children. He arrived in New France in 1661, at Trois-Rivières. In 1667, he owned a land on the Côte Saint-Michel de Sillery. In 1681 he was a hatter and lived in Dombourg (Neuvile), and possessed 2 cows and 10 acres of land. He died in Saint-Sulpice where he was buried on October 31, 1713.
